Orange Pomander: Get Rid of Moths

Orange?, originally uploaded by iLL.

Stick a few (make that a whole batch) of cloves into an orange and let it dry in you wardrobe. It smells nicer, it’s healthier than using chemicals and you can get really artistic.

Cisco Expo 2008 Romania

Written by Vlad on November 5, 2008 – 1:56 pm

Today is the first day of Cisco Expo 2008 Romania. The venue is Radisson SAS

My colleagues from Cronus are there too, doing some presentation, contributing to a workshop and running a series of quizzes about Cisco: trivia, junior and expert technical knowledge.

If you’re there don’t forget to take the quizzes, either using the IP video-phones on location or with your laptop/mobile via the provided WLAN. They’re offering a lot of presents to top scorers: hourly, daily and a grand prize.

New Features on LinkedIn: Applications and Company Groups

Written by Vlad on October 30, 2008 – 11:18 am

LinkedIn launched a new feature yesterday: applications platform. So far the most interesting seem to be:

  • Blogs: WordPress and it’s counterpart, Blog Links, for those using TypePad – allows you to display the latest entries from your blog on your profile page. You can use a special tag to filter out some of the entries.
  • Company Buzz – updates on what’s being said about your company
  • Amazon Reading List – book lists sharing
  • TripIt – travel info sharing

I’m sure this is only a small step towards opening a whole new social API and, given their user base, they might just succeed in bringing to business what others so far have failed to. I look forward to new applications.

It also seems they started to automatically push a new feature called Company Groups. This used to be an on-demand feature and is probably based on company profiles and statistics. If one of the companies you worked for has a profile then you might find out you’ve been added to a new group along with other coworkers:
